Exploitation Cinema: Supervan / Jailbait



There's a reason for calling it Exploitation Cinema.
It exploited $15.49 from me. But, you will not find any outstanding movies short of mild, possibly crude, amusement in the Exploitation film genre. These types of films are hindered by low budgets, amateur story writing, and catering to market niches.

The real complaint about these movies is how poorly they were rendered to DVD. The source material for the DVD appears to be direct from poorly maintained reels. No attempt appears to be made to clean up the picture or sound. The producers of the DVD, much like those persons that produced the actual movies, were likely hindered by budget and figured a poor quality transfer would provide a Grindhouse style atmosphere.

The first movie, Supervan, is about custom vans. The custom van was an icon of the 1970s. You could live in custom van. Supervan is about a kid who eschews working in the family gas station for his dreams of winning prizes at custom van shows. He rescues a girl, the daughter of the villain,...
